This year's Food Drink Devon Awards' glittering black tie awards ceremony was held at Sandy Park, home to Premiership Rugby team, the Exeter Chiefs. The evening began in style with a drinks and canapes reception where our own handpicked Salcombe crab meat was served in the most appetising pastry cases topped with seaweed caviar & cucumber relish. Absolutely exquisite!
This was followed by a delicious 3 course dinner plus cheese, coffee and Salcombe Dairy chocolates, all made with local produce from Food Drink Devon members.
We were thrilled to be awarded 3 Gold Awards. These gold standard awards celebrate the very best Devon has to offer by recognising the county’s most respected, influential and passionate artisan food and drink producers and establishments.
It was a wonderful sight to see our head chef, Martin and sous chef Karolis go up on the stage to receive the Gold Hospitality Restaurant award - so well deserved to the kitchen team and all the amazing food that they produce in our small kitchen on the Quay. And thanks also goes to the Crab Shed Salcombe Front of House Team for their warm welcome, their knowledge and passion for the food and drink they serve and for making the Crab Shed dining experience so special.
We also received Gold awards for all the hard work and expertise that goes on behind the scenes in our factory producing the very best quality handpicked brown and white crab meat.
We certainly had a fun evening - many thanks to Food Drink Devon for organising another great Awards Dinner.
