Crab Shed Salcombe offers delicious fresh, locally sourced seafood in Crab Shed Salcombe's relaxed, quayside dining environment in the heart of Salcombe on Devon's beautiful south coast.
Crab Shed Salcombe owners Nick and Nikki Horne, who previously owned an award winning seafood restaurant on the west coast of Scotland, look forward to welcoming you!
Our newly refurbished restaurant's light and bright decor creates a relaxed dining experience. In good weather, the outside deck overlooking Batson Creek is the perfect spot to dine al fresco.
Crab Shed Salcombe's fresh fish and shellfish - including the world famous Salcombe brown crab - are sourced directly from the fishermen who land their sustainable catches here at the Fish Quay in Salcombe.
At Crab Shed Salcombe, here on Salcombe's Fish Quay, we cook and 100% hand pick the top quality local brown crabs landed here.
Crab Shed Salcombe's Chefs then create delicious dishes in the restaurant including the ultimate Salcombe Crab Sandwich, Dressed Salcombe Crab, Crab Shed Bouillabaisse, whole Salcombe Cracked Crab and more. From boat to quay to plate, there's nowhere fresher.
In addition to starring on Crab Shed Salcombe's restaurant menus, we supply this delicious, fresh crab meat to discerning restaurants, hotels, pubs and delicatessens across South Devon.
We also sell our 100% hand-picked white and brown crab meat to the general public - perfect for a simple, delicious meal at home, on board a yacht or on a picnic.
The Crab Shed first started processing and hand-picking Salcombe crab in 2008. The Crab Shed restaurant then opened in 2014, born from an initiative to support the South West fishing industry and showcase South Devon's fantastic natural seafood larder.
The development of the Crab Shed's restaurant was a successful collaboration between Crab Shed founders - Salcombe Crab Traders - and a number of local organisations.
South Devon Coastal Local Action Group - who are committed to funding and investing in economic, environmental and community based projects that encourage innovation and promote the prosperity of the South Devon Coastal Area.
Coastal Communities Fund - who aim to promote sustainable growth and jobs in coastal communities.
South Hams District Council - who allocated the land for Crab Shed Salcombe's restaurant by the water adjacent to the Fish Quay.
Rivers Exe & Fowey - high quality, sustainable mussels
Looe, Plymouth & Brixham - freshly landed fish including cod, hake, turbot, bass, pollock, squid and scallops
Prime local beef from quality local butchers
