The recent 14th annual Food Drink Devon Awards night was a wonderful event showcasing the very best food and drink Devon has to offer. With the awards' focus on dedication to quality, sustainability and provenance, we were so happy to win no fewer than four awards on the night.
After almost 6 years of hard endeavour we have finally won the major Food Drink Devon Award for Best Restaurant. We are absolutely delighted and the award is testament to a real team effort! The judges thought Crab Shed Salcombe was "genuinely exceptional. They loved the combination of informality with the very high standards, and the obvious passion for what they do shone through." As well as Best Restaurant, Crab Shed Salcombe also collected a Hospitality Restaurant Gold Award.
The quality of our 100% hand picked crab meat was also recognised, with a Platinum Producer Award for the quality of our White Crab Meat, and a Gold Producer Award for our Brown Crab Meat.
Some of The Crab Shed crew took the night off to attend the event and a great night of celebration was had by all! Crab Shed owners, Nick and Nikki, were accompanied by Martin (Head Chef), Emma (Restaurant Manager) and James (Assistant Restaurant Manager).
